This album shows the process of creating the enormous backdrop for the Sealaska Heritage Institute's biennial "Celebration." The images include working out the initial conception on paper, to laying out the design and laying on the paint in the basement of the Perseverence Theater during the months before the 2006 Celebration.

Jennifer Morrel, former set designer with the Perseverence Theater, taught me how to blow up my design, how to "draw" the design on the fireproof muslin, and then she taught the Sealaska Heritage crew to properly fold, store, and how to hang the backdrop. My brother, Alan Davis came to Juneau for a week when the deadline got close.
